Our First Day In Hong Kong
Well, to be completely honest, it's our second day in Hong Kong.
We arrived at the HK airport at 11:30 pm where we were met by our driver Mr. Ko. A delightful man, full of conversation and a perfect introduction to Hong Kong on our 30 minute ride to our hotel.
If you've never been to Hong Kong, there are two parts. The "mainland" side and also Hong Kong Island which is across the Kowloon Bay.
We're staying on the Kowloon side at the L'hotel Nina et Convention Centre in Tsuen Wan. I could not have picked a better hotel.
On the internet sometimes 4 stars can be deceiving. In this case, it truly was 4 stars.
A quick check-in and off to our room on the 76th floor.

How's this for a room with a view?
Local Markets
On all of our trips, we enjoy getting out and mingling at the local markets. We've found that this is where we get a true taste of the culture. Hong Kong was no different. In fact, we found local markets not too far from our hotel.
And, of course, Sonja had to get her little taste. Don't ask me what it is that she's eating.
For breakfast, we headed to Tim Ho Wan restaurant. This is the only 1 Michelin star restaurant in Hong Kong. Again, don't ask me what we ate. I couldn't tell you. But it was delicious.
