Ahhh... Headed Back To Asia

It's been awhile since we traveled overseas and this trip came about as pretty much a spur of the moment decision.  We knew we wanted to get out of the cold and rain in the Pacific Northwest and had a trip to Hawaii planned in January.  However, Sonja made the comment one Saturday morning that she'd love to go back to Vietnam and that her manicurist had mentioned that tickets were inexpensive right now.  I thought I'd check it out and also came across tickets to Hong Kong for around $450 each, round trip!  Sonja has always wanted to go to Hong Kong and I've always enjoyed surprising her...  this seemed like a perfect opportunity.

And that's how on Sunday December 4th, we ended up on a Hainan Airlines flight across the Pacific.  Well, actually, because our first stop is Beijing we're headed over the North Pole across Siberia.  (Sounds cool when you tell folks you're flying over Siberia).

Excited to be going back to Beijing.  We had been there over 10 years ago and although we wouldn't be there more than 4 hours and not leaving the airport, I was going to get the chance to spend a little time with a dear friend Huang Dalei, or as we called him "Dale".

Dale and I had worked together at COSCO Container Lines and had completed some amazing projects.  He lives in Beijing and hadn't changed a bit.
